Margin Notes started as a paper notebook kept on a commuter train. The site is the tidied-up version: what the book was about, what stayed with me, and whether I would hand it to a friend.

Reviews are written within a week of finishing, before the opinion has time to settle into something more polite. Ratings are deliberately absent; the last line of each note says who I think the book is for.

No affiliate links. Library copies are noted where that is how I read them.
